Why Keeping Your Aadhar Updated Matters
Incorrect details in your Aadhar can cause problems in availing subsidies, government benefits, or banking services. UIDAI has also clarified that if someone has more than one Aadhar number, only the first issued Aadhar will be considered valid; the rest will be cancelled.
Free Update Facility Till 14 June 2026
UIDAI is offering free online demographic updates till 14 June 2026. After this date:
- Online updates will cost ₹25
- Updates at Aadhar Centres will cost ₹50
For Aadhar cards that are 10 years or older, UIDAI recommends updating details to avoid service disruptions.
Aadhar Card Correction Document List 2025-26

Offline Aadhar Update Process
